Photo exhibition “Hà Nội–Thừa Thiên Huế: Past and present”

In the ancient imperial capital Thừa Thiên-Huế, a photo exhibition named “Hà Nội–Thừa Thiên-Huế: Past and present” will last until October 15.
The organizer, Hồ Chí Minh Museum, will show 300 photos, documents and artifacts relating to Hà Nội and Thừa Thiên-Huế.
On the occasion, craftsmen in Huế will display their original products, such as a pair of bronze drums (2.8m high and 2.2m in diameter); and a huge bronze gong.

The Hùng Kings Museum in Việt Trì City, Phú Thọ Province, in September 30 evening opened the photo exhibition “From Văn Lang to Thăng Long-Hà Nội” introducing Việt Nam’s capital cities in different periods.

As an event to welcome Hà Nội’s 1000th birthday, the inauguration ceremony of Tùng Vân Pagoda, located in Thổ Tang Town, Vĩnh Phúc Province, was organized on October 1 after the nearly-1,000-day restoration.
The pagoda is embellished with two statues of Sakyamouni and Avalokitesvara made of a 20-ton monolithic gemstone, the ever biggest founded in Việt Nam.

The local authority of Nam Định, a Red River Delta province and the homeland of the Trần Dynasty (13th century), is showing many feature films about Thăng Long-Hà Nội.
The province also organizes various cultural activities, such as publishing two books on Thăng Long, performing historical plays, presenting Hà Nội with artifacts relating to the Trần Dynasty; and opening exhibitions and handicraft festivals.
